When running the Firmware update via the Give A Little app, there are some confusing failure notices, however do not be discouraged and follow the steps below. The firmware will happen and card reader connect via bluetooth to the android tablet in your CollecTin More.
On the Give a Little menu > Connect Terminal > Choose your reader > Connect > Firmware Update Prompt > OK
The first part usually takes about 20min, and the SumUp display will show "Updating Firmware". This will continue until One minute to go.
Shortly after this point the screen is likely to display "The update has failed" > Abort update (NOT Retry)
Back on the Give a Little menu > Connect Terminal > Choose your reader > Connect
Firmware Update Prompt > OK. This second part takes about 5 minutes.
Towards the end the SumUp is likely to briefly beep softly and display "UPDATING FW... OK SumUp"
(However this is very quick and may be missed and in some instances also appeared towards the end of the first 20 minute download)
There are two option at this stage.
> You may again have another "The update has failed" message. If this happens, go to the Give A Little menu again, and follow the steps to prompt the firmware update again. From here it will go to the following steps
> Message appears "Checking firmware updates", followed by "Connected".
Your bluetooth connection between the SumUp and Give A Little is established.
