1. SumUp firmware update not loading within Give A Little - Workaround
To update the firmware on your SumUp reader outside of Give A Little, you will need another mobile device, either Android or iOS. Please download the standard SumUp App onto that device.
Open the app, and sign into your SumUp Account. Open your profile, by clicking on the the person icon in the top left corner of the screen.
Choose 'Card reader' from the menu
In order to 'Connect' your card reader, which will update the firmware automatically, you will need to reset bluetooth on the SumUp Air.
Resetting the card reader requires power to be turned off - this can be achieved by either removing the battery from the handle, or the reader from the cradle [Tray 1 - Angle Insert Video: How to Insert / Remove the SumUp Card Reader or Tray 2 - Slide Insert Video: How to Insert / Remove the SumUp Card Reader].
To reset you then:
1. press the button on the right of the card reader for a couple of seconds until it is off
2. release the button,
3. press the button again for several tens of seconds...
4. in this time the screen will be black, and then say "hold for BT" / "hold for reset" followed by "release for BT" / "hold for reset"
5. when "release for BT" / "hold for reset" pops up it is time to let go of the button.
6 the sumup should beep
Now click on the blue 'Connect' button
It should now update the firmware on the SumUp Air card reader. This usually takes several minutes. The software version should now be 2.0.0.7 or greater. After this is complete, please repeat the bluetooth reset, so that the reader can again connect to your CollecTin.
Re-insert into your CollecTin and try a test transaction.
