You are never required to update the Give A Little app or reinstall it from the Play Store. This is always done directly from the Give A Little app our Support page.
Some of the early 3G models come up with an error message when the system tries to update the app from the Play Store.
There is a simple fix for this - namely reinstalling the app as per link below.
