Stripe Card Reader will not connect to the Give A Little App

Please make sure to follow the CollecTin More (Stripe) Quickstart Guide in the order specified to connect the Stripe card reader to your CollecTin More and Give A Little app.

If you are certain these were followed and you are stuck in a loop of the card reader not connecting, an error may have occurred during the initial connection when the Stripe update was downloading.

In this case, please follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Disconnect Power

Before removing or inserting the Stripe Card reader to your CollecTin More, always remove power coming into the unit. Depending on which power source you use do the following:

a) Booster battery (as photos below) - Remove the battery from the handle!

b) 3m Static Cable (as photos below) - Unplug the plug from power socket / USB cable from the charger plug

Step 2: Reset the Stripe card reader

> Carefully slide the charging port out of the stripe reader and remove it from the bracket

> Switch on the reader. The battery should be 100% or close to this. If not please use the cable supplied in the box of the Stripecard reader to charge it up fully.

> Once charged, remove the charger.

> Turn the card reader with the charging port facing you. To the left of the charging port is a small on-sized recessed reset button. Use a pin/paper clip to press the button and reset the card reader

Step 3: Prepare the Android Tablet within your CollecTin More for reconnect

On your CollecTin More, go to...
> Cogwheel (Settings)
> Connected Devices
> Find the card reader & tap > Forget
> Slightly pull up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the three Android navigation icons
> Tap the Square
> Swipe to the right and > Clear All

Step 4: Reinsert your Stripe Card Reader and thereafter Reconnect Power

> Reinsert your Stripe reader into your CollecTin More.

> Press the charging port for the Stripe reader back in on the right side of the reader.

> Once the reader is fully reinstalled, reconnect the CollecTin More to power

a) Booster battery - Reinsert the battery into the handle

b) 3m Static Cable - Plug the cable / charger plug back into the power source.

Step 5: Reconnect the Stripe reader with the CollecTin More as per the Quickstart Guide

Use your Quickstart Guide to reconnect the reader again. While doing so please pay special attention to these steps that are included:

  • Charge the reader fully
  • Pair the reader in the Bluetooth settings and then turn the Stripe Card Reader OFF so it appears under "previously connected devices"
  • Turn the Reader ON again
  • Connect reader via GAL, with Bluetooth. The Stripe reader should run an update, then it should work if it was successful.
