Charging Correctly and Understanding the Three Batteries in my CollecTin More

Created by Bettina Kabutz, Modified on Tue, 6 Aug at 4:42 PM by Bettina Kabutz

There are three batteries in the CollecTin More:

1. The battery in the tablet/screen - the icon in the top right of the main screen tells you the level
2 The battery in the card reader - the icon in the top right of the card reader screen tells you the level
3. The boost battery in the handle - the four blue lights on the base of the battery when the fuel button is pressed tell you the level (this one can be replaced with a Static Cable)

Running your CollecTin More using the Battery

To charge the entire CollecTin More system, please keep the battery in the handle, with the lead plugged in to the mains supply, and let it charge for 6-8 hours (or overnight) with the screen turned off.

Please remember the battery in the tablet/screen is the largest. Once taken off charge, the boost battery in the handle will discharge fairly quickly into the tablet/screen and as you suspect, the card reader. Usually the boost battery will discharge in about an hour.  Is that what you're experiencing. It is charging the other two batteries.

If the tablet is turned on, with the screen on, and the unit is not plugged into mains power, then both the tablet and handle battery will run down by themselves in 5-6 or 7-8 hours depending on which model you have. [You can extend this by approximately 1 hours by changing some tablet settings - instructions below.]

If you want to store your CollecTin More once charged, please remove the boost battery from the handle and store it separately, reinserting it when you want to use your CollecTin More.

Connecting your CollecTin More to Mains Power

The CollecTin More can be left plugged in overnight via the boost battery in the handle, but if plugged in permanently, it will cause this battery to eventually fail, as all lithium batteries eventually degrade after 100's of charges.

If you wish to leave it permanently plugged in, we recommend purchasing the boost battery bypass, a 3m USB Cable for Static Installation, from our shop below, which replaces the boost battery.
