Offline Donations with the CollecTin More with Stripe

When using the Stripe card reader, donations can be stored when there is no internet connection and processed when the connection is reestablished. Please carefully ready the information below that details how this feature works.

1. Internet required when logging into the Give A Little app

Logging into the app requires the CollecTin More to be connected to the internet (WiFi / Mobile Hotspot / activated SIM). This means that when you start up the CollecTin More from OFF and open the app, you need internet connection to access your donation page. 

To aid in use, when you anticipate to go into an area without connection, start up your CollecTin More beforehand, log into your relevant campaign etc and get the unit ready. Once ready to leave tap the power button once to switch off the screen only and not shut down the unit. When on site tap the screen again to switch on the screen and the CollecTin More will be ready to go.

If you have a model A13, switch on your Fully Single App Kiosk to avoid accidental switching off of the CollecTin More. The Fully Single App Kiosk of this model stops the tablet from powering off. (Find instructions in your Model A13 Quickstart Guide.)

2. Taking Donations when offline & Bank requirement for Tap

When offline, donations will be stored in the reader and processed only once internet connection is reestablished. Pending donations can be seen in your Give A Little menu (swipe in from the left) > Donations (navigate back to your donation page with the back arrow buttons).

When offline tap works with all digital cards (eWallet / Google Pay payments on mobile devices) as usual. Tapping with physical cards however is not allowed by the banks in offline mode and will require donors to lift the lid of the CollecTin More and use chip and pin.

3. Gift Aid when offline

If a donor has previously made an enduring Gift Aid declaration (they opted in to us applying it to future donations) and the campaign has Gift Aid activated, then their existing declaration will be applied to the offline donation once it is processed.

When offline, there is no access to complete new Gift Aid declarations (internet is required to load the necessary pages within the app). We are awaiting feedback from Give A Little if this is something that can be made available offline.
