Fitting a new Android Tablet or Full Upgrade into the CollecTin More

Step 1: Remove the SumUp / Stripe Card Reader
Below you can find a videos on how to remove and insert your card readers safely.

  • SumUp Air
            Please use the photo below to identify if you have a Tray 1 or Tray 2 for your SumUp.

Step 2: Remove the Tablet

> Helpful tools: Flat screwdriver or back of a spoon

USEFUL TIP: A15 tablets are supplied with an extra sticker with your serial number. The last 6 digits of this number are used to unlock your tablet. Stick the serial sticker underneath the base of your CollecTin More, next to the SIM or a different safe place with easy access in case you need it.




Step 3: Swap out the SIM cards 
> Helpful tools: Tweezers or small flat screwdriver

If you have an activated SIM for 4G data, you need to remove the active SIM from your old tablet and insert it into your new Tablet. If you swap SIMs, please also swap the SIM cards in the base of your CollecTin More, is this contains the details of your SIM card.

If your SIM was not activated, and you are using your CollecTin More on WiFi you can skip this step. You can activate the new SIM supplied inside your new tablet at any time. Please remove the card in the base of your CollecTin More and replace it with the new one supplied with your new tablet.

Step 4: Convert the SumUp Air to SumUp Solo Lite (Full Upgrade) or replace the Y-shaped internal charger cable (Partial Upgrade)
> Helpful tools: Flat screwdriver or back of a spoon or flat nosed pliers


4a: Full Upgrade: Convert CollecTin More for SumUp Air to SumUp Solo Lite

Note: The video shows the conversion from SumUp to Stripe, however follow the same steps that show how to fit the new tray you were provided with.

Step 6: Insert the Card Reader


6a: Full Upgrade: Fitting your SumUp Solo Lite Reader


Please connect your SumUp Solo Lite to Give A Little BEFORE securing it in your CollecTin More 

IMPORTANT: Before securing your SumUp Solo Lite into the CollecTin More, please follow the below instructions and note down the serial number of your SumUp Solo Lite card reader. Once secured, it is difficult to remove the reader to gain access to the serial number again, and you need this to connect the reader to Give A Little.


Use the Quickstart Guide supplied with the new tablet to Unlock the unit, and connect it to the internet as describer under step 1. Log into Give A Little and follow step 5. also included below:


Log in to the Give a Little app and make a test donation to connect the reader.

  • Choose an amount you wish to donate
  • The CollecTin will attempt to pair with the SumUp card reader
  • [IF more than one reader is found]:
    • Check the back of your SumUp reader (or its box) for a 17 digit S/N code, and write the last three digits down in a secure place
    • Scroll through by swiping left and right until the reader serial number in the middle of the screen matches that of the correct unit
  • [IF Give A Little is still connecting to the previous reader]:
    • press 'Switch to another card reader'
    • Scroll through by swiping left and right until the reader serial number in the middle of the screen matches that of the correct unit
  • Tap ‘Connect’
  • Lift the lid and tap the black checkmark icon on the reader to confirm pairing
  • On the tablet screen, check the “Allow access to contacts and call history” checkbox and tap on “PAIR”
  • [IF the firmware update pop-up appears] Tap ‘OK’ and wait for the update to install
  • Tap ‘Done’ on the ‘Connected!’ Screen
  • The transaction should go through afterwards 
  • [IF you are taken back to the campaign page instead] Pick the desired transaction again and follow the instructions on screen
  • You can either tap a card on the top of the reader to complete the transaction or cancel the transaction by lifting the lid and tapping the grey X button on the card reader
  • A successful donation will take you to the thank you screen, then back to the donation amounts
  • Make sure transactions go through and the reader charges properly before the next steps!


Install and secure your SumUp Solo Lite in your CollecTin More



6b: Partial Upgrade: Replacing your SumUp Air / Stripe Card Reader
