Battery Rattling / Micro USB Socket Damaged

Created by Bettina Kabutz, Modified on Wed, 12 Jun at 11:48 AM by Bettina Kabutz

Has the Micro USB socket in the end of the battery has come loose inside?

Does the battery rattle when you shake it?

This socket can be accidentally damaged if the cable is pulled too hard, pulled to the side or if the connector is forced in the wrong way around.

The battery can be replaced here.

Alternatively you may want to consider a USB cable for static installations, which allows you to connect the CollecTin More directly to mains power.

The CollecTin More can be left plugged in overnight, but if plugged in permanently via the battery in the handle, it will cause the boost battery in the handle to eventually fail, as all lithium batteries eventually degrade after 100's of charges.

If you wish to leave your CollecTin More permanently plugged in, we recommend purchasing this USB Cable for Static Installation extension, which replaces the boost battery.
